We are happy to inform you we have discovered the problem and solution to the recent drifting and battery charging bug that some of you have encountered with the eteeTracker.
Our team was able to conduct testing and discovered the issue was with the antenna connection to the socket in the tracker. Without notice, the socket part provider changed the part causing the antenna signal line and ground to be upside down. Since parts were purchased at different times, some units have the issue while others do not. Our previous quality control did not test for long distance as this is an issue we have never encountered, which resulted in faulty units making it to market. We apologise for the frustration and inconvenience this has caused.
With the upcoming Chinese New Year and current production planning we expect to have replacements and new stock available for February 29th.
In the meantime, we will address all unit replacements and ticket resolutions required. If you are experiencing tracking drifting issues, please submit a ticket here. We will promptly address your case.
